Crochet 101 is a beginner-friendly class designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of crochet in a relaxed, supportive environment. Over the course of two hours, you’ll learn how to hold a crochet hook and yarn, make a slip knot, create a foundation chain, and practice essential stitches such as single crochet and double crochet. The class also covers basic pattern reading, counting stitches, and tips for maintaining even tension. No prior experience is required, and all materials are provided.
You'll leave with a crochet hook, and your samples plus some additional yarn to practice at home.
Our Very Own Silly Little Crochet Artist: Mallory McDaniel
After learning to crochet as a child, Mallory quickly fell in love with the experimental craft of crochet and its endless possibilities. She has tried a bit of everything from everyday wear and stuffed animals to fiber art. And while the act of starting with a strand of yarn and transforming it into a three dimensional form is addictive it is the meditative act of crocheting that has always kept this art form as a primary hobby in her life. She is excited to work with others on starting their crafting journey or expanding their abilities to the next level.
